--Apologize for being mad lazy....but by now you should know that about me. My Pokemon March Madness tourney didn't work out the way I wanted to because I was unable to work out a presentable bracket and it was too much work to write it all out. Mewtwo was the only #1 seed not to make the final four because he was knocked off by the #2 seed Machamp. The final four included a Machamp vs Charizard match-up where Charizard flew around the arena occasionally spitting fire at the land planted Machamp. In the other round we saw an unlucky draw for Blastoise as he found himself matched up with the legendary Zapdos. In a fairly easy effort Zapdos managed to bounce back from an early Hydro Pump and land a thunder on the opposition. Just hours after that we witnessed a truely memorable battle. Completely airborn for three hours Charizard and Zapdos duked it out. When Charizard was down to just 10 HP he captured Zapdos in the notorious firespin maneuver which stabilized Zapdos and gave Charizard the championship. Congratulations to all of those who came out, and hopefully I don't screw a really sweet idea like that up as bad as I did this time.
--Speaking of March Madness tournaments, the fan-favorite Little Giants are still very alive in the 1st annual breast cancer 3 v 3 basketball tournament. Coming into the tournament we were deemed one of the worst teams out there. But we proved everybody wrong!!!!....and managed to pick up Sean Carbonell. Regardless, with the Ramos/Washington/Vazquez/Martello team eliminated we are the favorites heading into the elite eight. We face a tough Majied led team next round and will certainly need to bring our a-game (looking at you Sean)
--With our lax season just around the corner I have decided against doing a season preview. Last year our expectations were fairly low coming into the season so I couldn't think I could jinx anything by writing an entertaining, yet very informative season preview. This year we have a lot to play for so I'm not going to write anything about us. Look for the real news if you want to know what's up with the Lancer lax squad.
--I never thought I would say this, but I think it's time for Will Ferrell to move on. In his last four movies he has been the exact same character. I know, they have been unbelievable roles, but as I sat watching his last epic tale, Semi-Pro I realized it's losing its luster. Anchorman and Talladega Nights were absolutely epic. Blades of Glory and Semi-Pro just couldn't compare in my opinion. Obviously the supporting cast is extremely significant in how good the movie is. Anchorman had the legendary Channel 4 News team, and Talladega Nights had Shake 'N' Bake along with Sasha Cohen. Blades of Glory had John Herder, and Semi-Pro had Andre 3000. Seriously, the Andre 3000. Maybe it's not Will Ferrell doing the same character over and over again, maybe it's just the supporting cast, but I think it's time he explores some new roles.
--With spring training in full swing (get it...full swing!!! oh yeah!!) I would like to announce I am excited about the upcoming baseball season. Bet you thought there was going to be more to this, but nope....just excited.
--NFL action is under-way and I am sad to announce that the Broncos have cut, in my opinion, two of their best players in WR Javon Walker and OLB Ian Gold. Walker was hurt all last year and was demanding trades anyways, so I understand why he's out, but Ian Gold is one of the top OLB's in the league and has been a staple in this defense for the last five years. I don't know where the Broncos are going, but it doesn't seem like the Chargers are getting any worse anytime soon. Shit

GOTTA CATCH 'EM ALL!!!
Throughout history there has been one debate that has never truly been solved. Which Pokemon is best? Well, today is that day. I have decided to dedicate much of my precious time (which could be spent playing gears) to make a March Madness like bracket to decide who is the best.
Today I will merely introduce the bracket and let my viewer's pick their winners. As the days progress I will slowly choose the winners of each match up.
Much like the March Madness tournament, this is a selective bracket in which only 65 the original 150 will be involved. Let the Madness begin....
The Lance Bracket
*Play in game- Nidorino vs Nidorina
#1 Mewtwo
vs
#16 *Play-in
#8 Poliwrath
vs
#9 Dugtrio
#5 Flareon
vs
#12 Seadra
#4 Kangaskhan
vs
#13 Kabutops
#3 Machamp
vs
#14 Ivysaur
#6 Raichu
vs
#11 Hypno
#7 Charmeleon
vs
#10 Haunter
#2 Articuno
vs
#15 Machoke
Clearly the Lance Bracket is very interesting with our number one over all seed Mewtwo looking at a fairly easy trip to the sweet sixteen. A very interesting battle here will be the #7 vs the #10 as we have two secondary evolution pokemon doing battle in what could be a legendary first round fight. Also the upset bug might bite #5 Flareon as he, the fire pokemon is matched up against an under-rated opponent in Seadra. Not to mention a Nidorino vs Nidorina play-in battle. Things are already heating up!
The Ash Bracket
#1 Charizard
vs
#16 Beedrill
#8 Primeape
vs
#9 Rhydon
#5 Hitmonchan
vs
#12 Pinsir
#4 Hitmonlee
vs
#13 Weezing
#3 Alakazam
vs-
#14 Kingler
#6 Golem
vs
#11 Starmie
#7 Chansey
vs
#10 Dewgong
#2 Dragonite
vs
#15 Squirtle
The Ash Bracket is definitely a tough one as it boasts tough opponents right from the
#1 seed on down to the #16. Nobody has an easy road to the Elite Four in this bracket especially due to the two powerhouses we have at the top and bottom of this bracket. Charizard and Dragonite were both favorites coming into this tournament and there's a lot of noise out of Dragonite camp that he's outraged that he's a #2 seed and that he's in the same bracket as Charizard. We'll have to see if he even makes it that far before we make an hasty decisions. Another extremely interesting story of the Ash Bracket is the possibility of a Hitmonchan-Hitmonlee second round battle. Nobody is more bitter about getting a lower seed than Hitmonchan after Hitmonlee's #4 seed was announced. Clearly that would definitley be a can't miss second round fight.
The Gary Bracket
#1 Blastoise
vs
#16 Arbok
#8 Kadabra
vs
#9 Victreebel
#5 Nidoqueen
vs
#12 Magmar
#4 Nidoking
vs
#13 Lickitung
#3 Moltres
vs
#14 Pikachu
#6 Snorlax
vs
#11 Scyther
#7 Ninetales
vs
#10 Onix
#2 Venusaur
vs
#15 Wigglytuff
The Gary Bracket introduces a lot of the Pokemaniac's favorite pokemon. We all know there is a lot of support coming from the Blastoise camp as he is constantly polled as both an elite pokemon and one of the favorites. There is definitely a lot of support for him to go far. I hate to look to far into the future here, but in this bracket there is a possibility of a Blastoise vs Venusar fight. Surely a battle between the third evolutionary stages of Prof. Oak's starting pokemon would be nothing short of epic. The possibility of a Nidoking-Nidoqueen match is definitely something worth following. Another side story here is the unusually low seeding for Scyther who is normally a force to be reckoned with. We'll have to wait and see how this low seeding affects his Psyche
#1 Zapdos
vs
#16 Pidegeot
#8 Persian
vs
#9 Rapidash
#5 Aeordactyl
vs
#12 Vaporeon
#4 Arcainine
vs
#13 Exeggutor
#3 Gengar
vs
#14 Marowak
#6 Jolteon
vs
#11 Electabuzz
#7 Vileplume
vs
#10 Cloyster
#2 Gyrados
vs
#15 Sandslash
The final bracket definitely packs some power. Both Zapdos and Gyrados are heavy favorites to go far into this tournament. Then you throw in the likes of a Gengar and an Arcainine and you have arguably the deepest of the four brackets. No doubt the #6 vs #11 match-up will pack some electricity as Jolteon takes on Electabuzz. Many devoted fans out there will be disapointed to see an under matched Pidgeot have to go against the like of Zapdos in the first round. Well, I on behalf of the selection committee apologize. I forgot about him when I was making the original seeding and that's where he stands now. Better luck next year Pidgeot.
That's the bracket. In the coming days I will announce the winners of the first two rounds and show who comes out in the sweet 16.

My older brother Dan created a very fun post in which he displayed his predictions for 2008 via blog. Since I am far less creative than him I plan to ride the coattails of his success. Heck, maybe in a year I can go back and check all of these. God knowns I'll be a bored ass college student stuck at home. But I'm excited about 2008. Should be great!

-Charger's Kicker Nate Kaeding will write a book about being a gay football player

-Hillary Clinton will be on a permanent period after that

-Speaking of which, Gillette will continue to be the best a men can get
-The summer will be phun
-Mr T will have a better marketing year with World Of Warcraft than Wanda Sykes with Applebees
-These stripes won't run
I'm getting bored now and these are becoming more insignificant as they go. Go 2008!

Running Diary of the Capital One Bowl as Tebow and my boys take on the Wolverines.
1:12- Mike Hart is as bad a running back as he is an announcer as he introduces his squad.
1:13- Check that last note as Hart rips off a twenty yard run. Then proceeds to dbag it up by yelling at the Florida sideline.
1:16- Switched over to the hockey game momentarily and I have to be honest, it looks pretty amazing. The snow in the Ralph is really awesome.
1:17- Sidney Crosby or Tim Tebow? Yeah...You're right... no contest.
1:18- Mike Hart is running as if his sole purpose is to become a first round draft pick. Not good for the Gators man. MmM MmM.
1:21- Roman Fucking Tynon
***NOTE***
Due to Dan's disrespect for Tebow this will turn into a simul-diary with the football and the hockey game.
1:23- Henne throws touchdown to Manningham. Balls
1:25- Penguins score 21 seconds into the game. Hopefully things change for both of these.
1:26- Tebow announces team with the Heisman behind him.
1:30- Announcer's comment following Florida's missed field goal, "Michigan is in this game!"
1:36- Lot of talking from both teams so far in this game. If a fight breaks out you have to like the Tebow vs Henne matchup
1:37- The Michigan punter is named ZOLTAN!!
1:39- Tebow rips off a 19 yard run WITH ABSOLUTELY NO REGARD FOR HUMAN LIFE!!!!
1:41- Maybe it's just me, but there's a lot of Capital One advertising. Nah, it's just me.
1:45- First Zamboni sighting
1:50- Touchdown from Tebow to Harvin. RIGHT BETWEEN THE EYES!!!
1:52- Florida kicker saves the day on a near-return
1:54- Just noticed that Ryan Miller is donning a winter hat on top of his helmet
1:55- If I was a Michigan fan I would be real excited about the end of the Henne era.
1:56- Another ZOLTAN sighting.
2:03- Touchdown gators! Tebow has another for his 31st TD pass of the year. I have a gut feeling that 7-0 was the last of the Michigan threat.
2:07- Anyone else excited about the first period intermission with Bob Costas? His hair is as flawless as his voice.
2:11- Mario Manningham is a beast. I'm pretty confident he is going to be a star in the NFL. Then again, I also threw out that Dwayne Jarrett would be better than Calvin Johnson last January.
2:14- They ran a screen pass to their tackle.....I have no answer for that.
2:15- The third unsportsmanlike conduct so far. For those of you keeping track at home, we're only four minutes into the second quarter.
2:17- Mike Hart scores. Woopdee doo Bazzle
2:19- Graphic shows Vince Young as the tenth best college player of all-time. While I don't disagree with it because he was something special, I was pretty confident that a Heisman trophy would be a prerequisite to be in a list of best college football players of all time.
2:21- Barry Sanders (who in a previous blog post of mine was rated the single greatest running back of all-time) was named the second best player in college football history. I know I'm not the only one excited to see Tebow receive his spot at number 1 later on.
2:23- Percy Harvin just got hawked after a 60 yard run. Remember this day, he will never get caught from behind again.
2:27- Should Michigan fans be excited about Rich Rodriguez? Great recruiter but he has to be the worst motivator of all-time if he couldn't down a Pitt team in Morgantown with a shot at the national title on the line. Time will tell though, and he does kinda fall into a good situation with Superfrosh Sam MCGuffie coming into town next year.
2:30- After two plays in a row that should have been touchdowns Tebow is drilled by Michigan defenders causing a fourth down.
2:31- Blocked field goal and the fourth personal foul of the game. Over the last few years I am confident that the Gators have less field goals than any other team in the country.
2:33- I'm hungry
2:37- I wish Paul Maguire was doing this game. "I'll tell you what! This Tebow is the real deal! I mean he can run! He can throw! HA I bet he'd catch it if somebody threw it to him! This guy can play!"
2:38- I no longer want Maguire for this game, I want Flutie or Kieth Jackson.
2:41- Michigan is first with the active bowl streak and Florida is 3rd. The Aflac trivia question is who is 2nd? My guess goes to USC.
2:42- With Tennessee's win over Wisconsin the SEC is 5-0 thus far in the bowl season. The only conference in the ball park is the Mountain West who is 4-1.
2:43- Is Henne the punter or was that just a really bad play, I didn't see the beginning of it, but the ball was up in the air for a long time and it looked as if it was directed right at our safety.
2:45- Where's Barry Melrose on this special day for hockey?
2:49- Curious as to why the halftime report desk is reporting before halftime.
2:51- Braylon Edwards is at the game
2:53- Great coverage leads to a bullshit pass interference call.
2:55- Touchdown Wolverines. OK, it's a ball game now.
2:58- Nevermind, it's down to the one yard line. Can we stop 'em?
3:00- So far so good....
3:01- Fuckstick! Touchdown Wolverines. OK, its a ball game now.
3:19- Zippy the kangaroo of Akron was named Capital One's...ahem..Capital One's Mascot of the year. Congrats Zippy!
3:23- No fuck Zippy! That was a shitty choice! It could have been just about anyone but him. Personally for the specific year my own person Mascot of the Year Award goes to the Rainbow Warrior of Hawaii.
3:26- Pooch kick leads to another Michigan possession. Pooch kicks will haunt me for my entire life.
3:28- I am confused as to why Michigan was so bad this year. They have a lot of talent offensively and a pretty solid defense. I thought in the beginning of the year that they would be in a BCS game, but the whole Appalachian State game, then the huge loss to Oregon really set them back.
3:30- Somehow Capital One was able to alter the John Cougar Mellancamp/ Chevy truck commercial with "Thiiissss iisssss Capital One's ccccooooouuunnnnnnttrrrrryyy!"
3:33- I just don't know if I'm cool with the Wolverines driving for a two touchdown lead.
3:34- Mike Hart scores his second touchdown of the day as Michigan goes ahead two touchdowns on the Gators who were two touchdown favorites.
3:36- There was just a gatorade commercial for a beverage called G2 and allegedly it's coming soon. I'm curious...
3:38- Michigan kicks off and it's another pooch kick, but this time it just ends up with good field position for the Gators
3:42- The pressure that has been brought upon Tebow today by Michigan has been outstanding.
3:42- Fourth down conversion from Tebow to Harvin with again more Wolverine's in his face as he threw it.
3:45- Awesome run by Tebow as he falls just short of the goal line. Following play he scores a one yard touchdown run just as easily as he has been doing it all year. 14 straight games with at least one rushing and one throwing TD. It's on!!!
3:50- Darren McFadden ends his exceptional collegiate career with a 38-7 loss to Missouri.
3:53- Shitty tackling leads Michigan down to the 5 yard line. The whole Michigan walking down the field thing is getting pretty old.
3:53- FUMBLE! Gator ball at the twenty goin' the other way! Those of you NFL scouts reading my blog, two Mike Hart fumbles within the three yard line.
3:58- Fake punt! Urban Meyer is a mastermind. His own 23 yard line, and he still had the stones to go for it. Urban Meyer > Les Miles+Lloyd Carr+Rich Rodriguez
4:00- Long run by Percy Harvin, but he didn't get caught from behind, the guy just had a good angle.
4:01- Touchdown Tebow for his fourth TD of the day. Just another day at the office for the Heisman winner as he has brought the Gators back to tie it up at 28 all.
4:02- Aside from having their hands in everything college football Capital One has some of the shittiest commercials ever.
4:04- That girl with the elephant...you know from the DLP commercials....It's the mirrors. Anyways, no doubt in my mind that girl is gonna be really hot in like eight years.
4:06- Manningham had a great run where he reversed field and it looked awesome. I don't think he will ever be as good as Braylon Edwards, but still this dude has some serious potential.
4:08- Hopefully due to the weather the NHL decides to skip the overtime and go right into a shootout.
4:11- Or maybe not. A hooking call gives the Sabres a man advantage in the start of extra-play. Too bad we no longer have CHHHHHRRRRRIIIIIIIISSSSSSS DDDDDDDRRRRRUUUUUUURRRRRRYYYYYYY
4:12- Michigan has some sweet ass uni's
4:13- Mike Hart is just a better version of Chris Perry. Don't expect much from him when he goes to the NFL.
4:14- Manningham tried a reverse field run again and failed miserably.
4:15- Not as bad as the general profession of woman sideline reporters.
4:17- Nathan just send me a text message about the Hawaiian Rainbow Warriors. While we're on the subject, I do think they are going to upset Georgia tonight.
4:21- Field goal by the Wolverines a 31-28 lead. It's Tebow's time to shine!
4:23- Glad to say Michigan didn't elect to a pooch kick because those scare the shit out of me.
4:40- I was busy for a little bit, but in the time I missed the Penguinos one the ice game in a shootout which sucks, and the Gators scored a go-ahead touchdown. Percy Harvin is definitely going to make a difference in the NFL. He's just a better version of Roscoe Parrish
4:41- Touchdown Arrington. Wolverines lead 38-35. Here we go Tebow.....
4:46- Two screen passes in a row. Third and 5. What's gonna happen....
4:47- Incomplete pass as the Wolverine defense swarmed Tebow in the backfield yet again. This is ball game....
4:47- Incomplete pass again. Wolverine ball.
4:49-Timeout Gators
4:51- Timeout Gators
4:52- Field Goal good for the Wolverines. They now lead 41-35. If we would have made that one field goal and not had the other blocked we would be tied. Balls!
4:55- 2 minutes and 14 seconds left. No timeouts. One time Dealer!
4:58- Another failed fourth down attempt will end the ball game. Congratulations to the Wolverines and Lloyd Car. Michigan owned Tebow for the better part of the game and because of that they were able to stifle the Heisman trophy winner. Over the course of the last few years, I haven't seen that many Michigan games, but that was probably the single best game I have ever seen Chad Henne play. Arrington and Manningham both played out of their minds too. It was the end of an era for Michigan as they look forward to the future of Rich Rodriguez and Sam McGuffie. Obviously this sucks bad to be a Florida fan right now, but the Gators are a ridiculously young team and will be back and p
