For all of you out there who have been defeated by me in Madden (aside from you Shaquan you crip walkin' son of a bitch) be prepared to be waxed even worse next year. The Denver Broncos made a monumental (monumental in some people's eyes. OK, just me....) trade today for all pro cornerback Dre Bly. Aside from being the best player on a very shotty football team, Dre Bly also has a Super Bowl ring from his ol' playin' days with the St. Louis Rams.
When I play with the Broncos in Madden, I hear many complaints that the Broncos defense is too good, and that Javon Walker is unrealistically talented. Sorry to make matters worse, but Dre Bly gives them two of the league's premier corners, and Javon Walker's rating will increase significantly due to his successful season last year. Not to mention Jay Cutler will be better. His throwing accuracy will be average at best (as it should be), but his power will be upper 90's as he displayed his ability to go deep in his few appearances last season. I'm already looking forward to my opponents throwing their controllers in frustration as Javon Walker beats second string cornerbacks deep as Jay Cutler floats it up top to him.
It's tough to run on the Broncos because of their speed at linebacker. TIP: As I told Josh Valletta in the tournament, and it helped him defeat the Broncos, the best thing to do against them is run HB Dives over and over again. Their linebackers are too fast to beat them around the edge. Their defensive backs are too good (even better now) to throw it too often. And John Lynch is covering the middle of the field so nothing gets broken up the middle. The Best thing you can do is take 3-4 yards a play and just try to grind out yards. This is something my opponents have refused to do, despite it being the Bronco's biggest liability on defense. Their defenseive tackles suck.
Unfortunately I feel this big trade for another great cornerback might put them over the edge. Pending on next month's draft, they could be considered a premier team in the eye's of Madden players. This is not good, because then some of my wise ass friends will try to hoodwink me and be the ol' Broncos against me. Then I will have to revert to the CincinAttica Bungals, or the Washington Native Americans. Anyways, it's early March, and I'm already pumped for the NFL season. God I love the NFL. A little off-season action and I'm right back into it. I can't wait to watch Jamarcus Russell (assuming the Raiders draft him) get destroyed twice next year. I also can't wait until the day I can dominate in Madden once again. Until then, it's back to Guitar Hero.....

The NFL offseason is pretty legit. Too bad this years draft class is terrible. Being a college football fan the draft is problaby my favorete part of the entire season. But even with the lack of talent the draft will be entertaining as it is every year. But I would like to say that this years best player(Calvin Johnson) would have been picked no higher than 8th in last years draft. Tommorow kicks off free agency and thats sure to be exciting. Hopefully the 49ers won't make the moves that they're expected to do because that would totally blow for us Cardinals fans. And as for the Bly/Bell trade. The Broncos got it right again. I think they need another back to go along with Mike Bell, but the Broncos always produce productive running backs. A trade for Willis McGahee could put them over the top as one of if not the leagues best team. Marshawn Lynch from Cal would also be a great pickup for the team if he were to drop that far in the draft. But both of those players may be out of reach for the Broncs. Who knows what will happen though, thats why the NFL offseason can be so exciting.
Travis Henry is a sensational pickup.
Consistently the league's most underrated RB.
+1,500 yards...write it down.
couldnt have made it to the final four without you buddy.
